What is AO3 Reader?

A mobile reading app for Archive of Our Own. Browse millions of fanfiction works with a clean, customizable reading experience.

Do I need an AO3 account?

No. AO3 Reader works without any account. All publicly available works can be browsed and read directly.

How do bookmarks work?

Bookmarks, reading history, and saved lists are stored locally on your device. They are private and never synced to any server.

What is Premium?

Premium unlocks unlimited access to all features including unlimited browsing, bookmarks, reading lists, and the full reader experience.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open Settings on your device, tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, find AO3 Reader, and tap Cancel. Access continues until the end of the current period.

How do I restore purchases?

In the app, go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID.

Can I customize the reader?

Yes. Choose from multiple fonts, adjust text size and line height, set margin width, and pick from Light, Dark, or Sepia themes.

Why can't I find a specific work?

Only publicly available works are shown. Locked works requiring an AO3 account or removed works will not appear.

Is this app affiliated with AO3?

No. AO3 Reader is an independent third-party app, not affiliated with the Organization for Transformative Works or Archive of Our Own.

How do I request a refund?

Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, select the purchase, and request a refund.
